Confluence Connector
Connect to Atlassian Confluence to index wiki pages, spaces, and attached documents from your knowledge base.
Overview
The Confluence connector supports:
- Confluence Cloud and Server/Data Center
- Page content and attachments
- Space-level filtering
- Permission synchronization
Prerequisites
- Confluence Cloud or Server instance
- User account with read access
- API token (Cloud) or credentials (Server)
Authentication
Confluence Cloud
- Go to Atlassian Account Settings
- Create an API token
- Use your email + API token for authentication
Confluence Server/Data Center
Use username and password, or configure OAuth/SAML if available.

Setup Steps
- Add Connector: Knowledge → Add Data Source → Confluence
- Enter Credentials: Instance URL, email, and API token
- Select Spaces: Choose spaces to index
- Configure Options: Attachments, permissions
- Test & Create: Verify and save
Space Filtering
Index specific spaces:
Include: ENGINEERING, PRODUCT, HR
Exclude: ARCHIVE, SANDBOX

Permission Sync
Confluence permissions are synced:
- Space permissions
- Page restrictions
- Group memberships
Users only see content they can access in Confluence.
Best Practices
- Start with high-value spaces
- Exclude archive/sandbox spaces
- Enable permission sync for security
- Include attachments for complete coverage

Authentication failed: Verify API token and email combination
